My background in early years work was incredibly practical: juggling practise and parenting and needing to find work in family-friendly hours, I started delivering weekly music sessions at my daughter's nursery! This led to serving as musician in residence there for over six years, giving sessions every week to every room, from baby to nursery school, as well as individual and small group SEN sessions. Children are the most honest audiences out there, so every week was a masterclass in delivery, performance and engagement. I became a soloist on the Live Music Now scheme which regularly took me into special needs schools, care homes, and a very rewarding two years serving as musician in residence on the cardiology ward at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
