COMING UP FOR AIR CONCERTO

Coming Up For Air has recently been transformed into a mega flute concerto by composer Larry Goves, where each breath was sourced from the collection, bringing together 46 works into a 35-minute work with full symphony orchestra. The world premiere took place in November 2024 with Philharmonie Luxembourg at the Rainy Days Festival, conducted by Jessica Cottis.

I still require daily treatment and management of my environment, and I use the platform of Coming Up for Air to advocate for healthier indoor air quality for musicians. This led to a post-doctoral research project at the Royal Northern College of Music which explored the intersections of music, technology, and environmental health, placing live indoor air quality data and musicians' respiratory access needs at the core of a novel intermedia and public-engaging musical practice.
